Our story
The name came from a responsibility, not a business category.
VONFIDEL began in 2009 inside the relationship between dog and handler. The work later moved into other fields. The standard behind the name—fidelity to responsibility and to the reality of the outcome—remained.
2009 · The origin
Fidelity had to be visible in the work.
The name VONFIDEL was coined around the fidelity expected between a dog and its handler: not blind obedience, not decorative loyalty, but a relationship capable of carrying clarity, trust, judgment, and consequence.
That first meaning still matters. It prevents the name from becoming an empty umbrella placed over unrelated activity.
The work changed. The idea did not.
Continuity
The fields widened without erasing their differences.
VONFIDEL is not a claim that dogs, horses, publishing, and advisory work are the same. It is a record of a common operating demand appearing in different settings.
Horses, land, and guests
Suitability, welfare, preparation, and decisions that change with the animal, rider, terrain, weather, and intended experience.

Looking beneath performance language to the structures, judgments, risks, and accountabilities that determine whether an outcome will hold.
The institutional role
VONFIDEL provides continuity without pretending to be the work itself.
The Ranch needs a horse-led identity. Cognisive needs intellectual independence. VONFIDEL K9 needs its own history and professional boundaries. The institutional name connects them through provenance and operating principle, while allowing each practice to remain legible on its own terms.

Alfie Ameer founded VONFIDEL K9 and carried the fidelity principle into later field, horse, writing, and advisory work. The purpose of that continuity is not to build a personality brand. It is to keep the name answerable to an operating standard and a documented origin.
Where fuller biographical detail is useful, it should remain verifiable, relevant to the work being described, and bounded by the privacy of clients and operations.
