Dog training FAQ

VONFIDEL K9 is the specialist practice from which VONFIDEL began in 2009. Its professional record covers obedience, puppy development, behaviour work, protection, detection, working-dog development, and canine consultancy.

New general dog-training intake has concluded. Existing contractual obligations continue, and selected specialist consultancy is considered by suitability and scope.

VONFIDEL K9 is based in Sri Lanka. Any continuing contractual work or selected specialist consultancy is arranged according to the scope, welfare, safety, confidentiality, and operational context involved.

We do not accept or reject a case by breed label alone. Suitability is assessed through temperament, behavioral history, handler capacity, environmental risk, health considerations, and the objective being requested.

Existing clients should use the continuing-client route. For a serious assessment, acquisition, temperament, household, estate, institutional, working-dog, or risk decision, first review specialist consultancy.

Because program names are not diagnosis. A recall problem, leash problem, aggression complaint, or protection request may be rooted in temperament, confusion, fear, poor handling, owner inconsistency, or environmental pressure.

The field note How Temperament Is Assessed Before a Program Is Named explains what is read before a route is recommended. The process is designed to prevent the wrong intervention being sold too early.

Duration depended on the dog, the handler, the environment, and the depth of change required. Some obedience cases were straightforward; rehabilitation and specialist work could require more time because stability mattered more than speed.

The Fidelity Method™ is the operating philosophy behind VONFIDEL K9 training. It prioritizes trust before pressure, clarity before correction, balance before performance, and owner responsibility after training.

The work is built around clarity, timing, consistency, emotional regulation, humane handling, and measurable reliability. Method selection is case-specific and must respect welfare, safety, and what the owner can maintain after handover.

Welfare is treated as part of performance, not as a separate decoration. Housing, rest, nutrition, stress load, enrichment, emotional stability, and handler conduct all affect whether training is ethical and durable.

No general protection-training intake or casual guard-dog placement is open. The Protection Training page remains part of the professional record.

A serious present-day decision may be considered only within selected specialist consultancy, subject to suitability, handler competence, law, operational boundaries, welfare, and ethical clarity.

Selected specialist consultancy may be considered where the scope is appropriate and VONFIDEL K9 can add responsible value. Acceptance is not automatic and does not reopen general dog-training intake.

It may form part of an existing contractual obligation or a selected specialist consultancy scope. It is not offered as an open general-training programme.

Where a specialist consultancy matter is accepted, pricing depends on scope, duration, complexity, travel or handling requirements, confidentiality, welfare needs, and the work required to reach a responsible decision. No blanket public price is implied.

VONFIDEL K9 does not offer boarding as a standalone commercial service. Any current boarding eligibility is limited to an established VONFIDEL K9 relationship, depends on welfare, safety, history, and availability, and is confirmed directly.

There is no open public or prospective-client visiting programme. A visit may be arranged only when an existing obligation or accepted specialist scope requires it. Unscheduled walk-ins are not suitable because welfare, privacy, and operational control must be protected.

Existing contractual obligations, including agreed follow-up, continue according to their scope. Existing clients should use the continuing-client contact route for a matter connected to prior work.
